How to measure a room for custom furniture

Good measurements make the first estimate more realistic. You do not need a professional drawing to begin, but a few details help a lot.

Measure these

• Wall width, height and depth available.
• Door and window positions.
• Switchboards, sockets, AC points and curtain space.
• Skirting height and floor level issues.
• Clearance for shutters, drawers and walking space.

Take photos from all corners and one straight photo of the target wall. This helps the designer understand the room quickly.
